Frequently Asked Questions
Straight Answers, No Sales Fog
Everything contractors usually ask us before partnering: how we work, what things cost, and what to expect. Don’t see your question? Ask us on a free intro call.
// Working With Clear Brands
How is Clear Brands different from other marketing agencies?
Two things: focus and transparency. We only serve home service businesses, and we only go deep on the channels that drive their leads: Google search, Maps, PPC, and LSAs. Then we document every task we complete and review it with you live each month. You’ll never wonder what your budget bought.
Will I get regular reporting on progress?
Yes: a live monthly reporting call with your account manager, plus a written log of all work completed. We review real leads (calls and form fills), rankings, and spend. If something is underperforming, we tell you and fix it aggressively rather than burying it in a dashboard.
What services do you offer beyond SEO, PPC, and websites?
Our packages also cover Local Service Ads management, Google Business Profile optimization and management, review management, citation building, AI search optimization (GEO), monthly SEO blog content, and backlink building. We deliberately stay specialized in Google-centered marketing rather than being average at everything.
How many leads can I realistically expect?
It depends on your market, service, and ad budget. Anyone who promises a specific number before seeing your account is guessing. Paid ads typically produce leads within the first month; SEO compounds over the following months. On your intro call we’ll give you honest estimates based on your area and goals.
Am I locked into a long contract?
No lock-in tricks. Choose a 6-month term or a month-to-month option with a one-time setup fee. Marketing compounds, so we recommend giving the strategy at least six months, but the choice is yours, in writing, from day one.
Do I own my website?
Yes. Once your build is paid in full, the website is 100% yours: design, content, and code. Host it with us or take it anywhere. We win by keeping you happy, not by holding your site hostage.
// Website Design
How long does a website build take?
Most builds launch in four to eight weeks depending on page count and how quickly feedback comes back. We’ll give you a specific timeline in your proposal, and the project plan keeps both sides accountable to it.
Do I really own the website?
Yes, completely, once the final payment clears. Design, content, code, everything. Host it with us or move it to any WordPress host you like. We win by keeping you happy, not by locking you in.
Who writes the content?
We do. Our team writes every page based on what we learn about your business, then you review and approve before anything goes live. You provide photos of your team and work if you have them; we supply professional placeholders if you don’t.
What about hosting and maintenance?
We offer managed hosting with backups, security, and plugin licenses handled for you, and it’s included free with our Growth and Authority marketing packages. Prefer to host elsewhere? No problem; the site is yours.
Can you redesign my existing site instead of starting over?
Sometimes. It depends on what’s under the hood. If your current site has good bones we’ll tell you, and if a rebuild would honestly serve you better we’ll tell you that too, with the reasoning laid out plainly.
// Local SEO
How long does SEO take to work?
Local SEO typically shows early movement in 60โ90 days, with meaningful lead flow building over months three through six. Anyone promising page one in 30 days is either lying or doing something Google will eventually punish. We’d rather set honest expectations and beat them.
What do you actually do each month?
Google Business Profile posts and management, review responses and generation strategy, citation building and cleanup, trade-specific content, quality backlinks, technical site optimization, and competitor monitoring, all itemized in your monthly work log and reviewed with you live.
Do you guarantee #1 rankings?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does, because nobody controls Google. What we do guarantee is documented work, honest reporting, and a strategy built on what actually moves local rankings: proximity, prominence, and relevance.
What is GEO and do I need it?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) means getting your business recommended by AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google’s AI Overviews. More homeowners ask these tools for recommendations every month, and the answers pull from signals we already build for you: clear service content, a strong Google Business Profile, consistent citations, and real reviews. It’s included in our SEO work, not a separate upsell.
Is SEO better than paid ads?
It’s not either/or. Ads produce leads immediately but stop when the budget stops; SEO takes longer but keeps producing without a per-click cost. The strongest position is showing up in the ads, the Map Pack, and organic results simultaneously. That’s where market leaders live.
What happens to my rankings if we stop working together?
Everything we build, from your content and profile to your reviews and links, is yours and stays live. Rankings don’t vanish overnight, though they will gradually erode without ongoing work as competitors keep investing.
// Paid Ads (PPC)
How fast will I see results from PPC?
Faster than any other channel. Most campaigns produce leads within the first few weeks, with real momentum by day 30โ60 once we have enough data to optimize against. The first month is about learning what your market responds to; from there, performance compounds.
How much ad budget do I need?
It depends on your trade, market, and goals. A garage door company in a small metro needs a different budget than a restoration company in Tampa Bay. On your intro call we’ll recommend a realistic starting budget for your situation, and we’ll never push spend that the data doesn’t support.
What keeps my budget from being wasted?
Discipline, mostly. Negative keyword lists block searches that never turn into jobs, tight geo-targeting keeps your ads inside your actual service area, and weekly reviews cut anything that spends without producing. Every call and form fill is tracked back to its keyword, so budget decisions are made on evidence instead of hunches.
Where do my ads send people?
To pages built to convert, not just your homepage. Before spend ramps up, we tune the landing pages your ads point to, because the best click in the world is wasted on a page that doesn’t make the phone ring.
Do I own my ad account?
Yes. Campaigns are built in your Google Ads account, with your billing, and you keep full access. If we ever part ways, everything we built stays with you.
Should I do PPC or SEO first?
They solve different problems: paid ads buy immediate visibility, SEO builds visibility you own over time. If you need leads this month, start with ads. If you’re planning for the long term, pair them. The businesses that dominate their market usually show up in the ads, the Map Pack, and the organic results at the same time.
// Local Service Ads
What's the difference between PPC and Local Service Ads?
PPC (Google Ads) shows text ads based on keywords you bid on. It’s flexible and highly targetable. Local Service Ads sit above everything else, show your reviews and the Google Guaranteed badge, and charge per lead instead of per click. For most home service companies the best answer is both, and we manage them together so they don’t compete with each other.
What is Google Guaranteed?
It’s the green checkmark next to Local Service Ads. Earning it means Google has verified your business through background and license checks, and bookings through the ad are backed by Google’s money-back guarantee. Homeowners trust it, and that trust shows up in your call volume.
How does pay-per-lead billing work?
Instead of paying every time someone clicks, you pay when a real lead contacts you through the ad. And when a junk lead slips through, like a wrong number or a sales call, we dispute it with Google so the charge gets credited back instead of quietly draining your budget.
How do I rank higher in the LSA results?
Google decides LSA placement based on your review count and rating, how quickly you answer calls, and how complete your profile is. We manage the profile and the review flow, and we’ll coach your office on the response habits that keep you at the top of the list.
Can I run LSAs and regular Google Ads at the same time?
Yes, and for most companies that’s the winning setup. LSAs capture the high-trust calls at the very top of the page while search ads cover everything LSAs can’t target, like specific services and neighborhoods. We manage both together so they complement each other instead of competing.
// Logo Design
How long does a logo project take?
Most projects wrap in a few weeks, depending on how quickly feedback comes back at each stage. You’ll get a specific timeline in your proposal, and the approval checkpoints keep everything moving.
How many concepts and revisions do I get?
You’ll see multiple original concepts up front, and we refine your favorite until it feels right. We’re not in the business of wearing you down until you settle; the mark ships when you love it.
Do I own the logo?
Completely. Once the project is paid, full rights to the mark and every file transfer to you. Use it anywhere, forever, with no strings back to us.
What files do I actually get?
Vector source files for sign shops and printers, transparent PNGs for the web, and print-ready formats, delivered in full color, single color, and light and dark background versions, plus a brand guide documenting your colors and fonts.
Can you refresh my existing logo instead of starting over?
Often, yes. If your current mark has equity in your market, we can modernize it without losing what people recognize. If it’s genuinely holding you back, we’ll say so and show you why.
// Payment Processing
What payment types can my customers use?
Credit and debit cards, ACH bank transfers, and in-person card payments. Digital invoices include a secure pay link, so customers can settle from their phone the moment the job is done.
Do I need a marketing package to use payment processing?
No. Payment processing stands on its own, and plenty of clients start there. That said, the setup is strongest when your marketing, website, and payments run as one connected system with one partner accountable for all of it.
Will it work with my accounting or field software?
In most cases, yes. We integrate payments with common accounting and field service tools so transactions land in your books automatically. Tell us what you run on your intro call and we’ll confirm the fit before anything gets set up.
What are the rates?
Rates depend on your volume and how you take payments, so we walk through them on your intro call, in plain English, with nothing buried in the fine print. If we can’t beat what you’re paying now, we’ll tell you that too.
How fast do I get my money?
Next-day funding is available on eligible accounts, meaning card payments you take today land in your bank the next business day. We’ll map out your exact funding timeline during onboarding, including how ACH transfers and cutoff times work for your setup.
